Henry H. Kessler Foundation NAMES TOP EXECUTIVE
“Rodger DeRose has the proven skills to guide the Foundation’s research and grantmaking missions in new and innovative ways,” said W. Thomas Margetts, chairman of the board of trustees of the Foundation. “He’s a veteran leader who has helped major U.S. foundations and corporations manage profitable growth, build cohesive management teams, and create winning public relations and marketing campaigns. We’re delighted to welcome him.”
As president and CEO of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, DeRose more than doubled revenues in a four-year period while increasing funding for research and patient education. During his tenure there, DeRose led efforts to pass strategic legislation and developed a national public service announcement campaign taking the foundation to national prominence. As partner and chief operating officer for Arthur Andersen's technology software division based in Sarasota, DeRose played a key role in research, development and sales. Prior to joining Arthur Andersen, DeRose also served 20 years with consumer giant SC Johnson, where he held leadership roles in consumer, professional, new products and over-the-counter drugs. DeRose is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and received his MBA from Marquette University. He and his wife Ellen have two grown children.
"The Kessler Foundation fosters an environment of creativity, innovation, and commitment to mission that is very powerful and highly respected,” said DeRose. “I look forward to being a vital part of this remarkable enterprise and helping to take the Foundation to its next level of performance.”
